stranger things

floorboard cracks and slippery tiles,
uncertainties disguised as mop
wiping clean the frail ground.
holed roof and broken gutter
covered by a piece of wood
in the process of rotting.
yet i enter
and worship the altar at the center.
pretending that blindness is a choice
that i have chosen
just to stay in this house
with magnificent wallpapers
an expensive chandelier
hanging so brightly,
like diamonds,
as if aesthetic is what i need.

they told me people need shelters,
but if it's made of the weakest foundation
do you still consider it as home?
if your sanctuary does not feel the safest
do you still hide inside
or do you run away to the much more dangerous plane?
but what if peace is found in the wasteland
would you take the chance?
