leaves

you are the flowers i saw at the park yesterday 

you were not blue nor gray

not a shade of orange and red

not even yellow or violet 

you were green. 

you like to join the leaves 

for you said, nobody deserves to be alone

nobody deserves to be thrown 

for leaves may not be flowers 

but they are also part of plants 

and without them, how do you live? 

and how do you breathe?
