Youth is such an awesome period of life.

At the age of 12, I refused to believe that the world is as plain as a sphere
I would imagine it like a star with five impressive points
that glows brilliantly like a chandelier.
The thought that there is a black space out there frightens my joints,
for I have created mentally a field of yellow flowers,
with a fragrant smell that my nose devours
waiting for my hand to kiss once I learn to fly.
But at the age of 13, they clipped my wings,
saying that no person can touch the sky
and nothing can blossom on airless evenings.
However, I declined to stop decorating my hat with twigs and tulips.
I will continue to be mesmerized by the dirt on my boot
and pile loving stories on my fingertips.
At the age of 14, there will be birds and bees and iridescent butterflies
I will call when I awake at the beginning of July.
They will dance around my hair while I put a disguise
and act like a queen, a fairy, and a knight.
At the age of 15, I'll make snow angels on the sand,
believe that the world is still kind,
and even without sugar or salt nothing is bland.
At the age of splendid 16, I might have committed mistakes
and I will apologize with the most woeful tone,
because if I want to convey my heartbreaks
it is essential that they feel it intensely on their bone.
At the age of 17, I dream to plant and contribute
a plethora of peculiar, consequential moments.
I intend to paint each stone my feet encounter
with my collection of hues and gradients
I plucked from a variety of vibrant petal colors.
I will lock my gaze at every tree like it breathes
I will express my feelings using big words like an adventurer,
who jumps on mountains of synonyms,
writing and riding waves like a soul surfer,
enjoying being alive in this astonishing place.
And at the age, when I have undoubtedly soared,
I hope to see my footsteps and trace
in every corner and nook that I explored.
My heart won't have sorrows nor regrets, that I believe,
because I did not give up on my romance

and rejected the idea that I am only naïve.
