to be a woman
Women are liquids - taking shape of its surrounding
constantly adjusting, flowing, being
Perceived as a state of matter
no consequences, just chatter.
Why do we have to be reduced to feel less guilty
Forced to bury the well inside, think shallow and be silly
Why do we have to be so hollow to finally be understood correctly
Treated as fragile, but never gently.
Masters of adaptation, yet not expected to change
Breathing, but not allowed to take up space
Women are fluid but trapped on a cage
Compressed, and compelled to break
Why are we never permitted to overpour?
Passed from one container to another
Skin, thoughts and insides restricted
And they still demand, can you be less rigid?
Women are liquids - taking all of its surrounding.
Silenced, deceived, made small but thriving.
No matter the size, shape and view
She can preserve the extent of her value.
Oh to be a woman.
